Roof Repair in Winnipeg
Leaks traced to the actual source and fixed, with a straight answer on whether a repair is the right call.
Most roof leaks are not dramatic, and most of the repair calls Winnipeg Roof Pros takes start the same way. A stain appears on a ceiling, or a patch of shingles looks different from the rest, and the question is whether it is a small fix or the start of a bigger conversation.
Finding the Actual Source
Water rarely enters where it appears. It runs along the underside of the sheathing, follows a rafter, and drops somewhere else entirely — which is why patching the spot directly above a ceiling stain so often fails.
We work back from the evidence: what is above the stain, where the roof penetrations are, how the valleys drain, and what the flashing is doing at every wall and chimney. Flashing details are the most common culprit we find on Winnipeg roofs, followed by vent boots that have gone brittle and split.
When a Repair Is the Wrong Answer
If the shingles across the whole roof are curling, losing granules, or brittle enough to crack when they are lifted, a repair fixes one spot on a roof that is failing everywhere. We will tell you that plainly rather than selling you a patch every spring.
The reverse is also true. If your roof has years left and one detail has failed, that is a repair, and we are not going to quote you a replacement for it.
Where the leak turns out to be at a chimney, wall, or vent, that is flashing repair. Where the shingles across the whole roof have reached the end, we will quote a roof replacement instead and tell you why.

Roof Repair Questions
Can my roof be repaired instead of replaced?
Often, yes. If the field of the roof is still in good shape and the problem is localized — flashing, a valley, a few wind-lifted shingles, a cracked vent boot — a repair is the right answer and we will say so. We will also tell you when a repair is only buying a season.
The ceiling stain is in one spot. Is the leak right above it?
Usually not. Water travels along the underside of the deck and down rafters before it drops, so the entry point is often well uphill of the stain. That is why we trace the path rather than patching what is directly above the mark.
Do you do emergency repairs?
For active leaks and storm damage we will get a tarp on it to stop water coming in, then come back to do the repair properly once the weather allows and we can see what we are working with.
How much does a roof repair cost?
It depends entirely on what is wrong and how much roof has to come up to get at it. Small flashing and boot repairs are at the low end; anything involving decking or a large section of shingles costs more. We look at it first and give you the number in writing.
